Swirl Stone Polymer Clay

Unique designs and patterns in polymer clay by Paoli, Wisconsin artist Laura Timmins. Colored and translucent polymer clays are blended and layered together to construct the intricate patterning in each piece. Patterns often contain gold or silver leaf and other inclusions embedded in translucent clay. Patterned clay pieces are combined, creating a rich polymer collage. The collage is then sculpted into shape, using an internal wire armature for support when needed, and cured with heat. The spiraling design seen in many of the pieces is created by twisting the polymer collage between two glass sheets prior to shaping and curing.

Computer upgrade

On Tuesday, August 9 we'll be upgrading our office computer. The end result will be quicker service but we may have to resort to hand-writing sales receipts tomorrow morning while the installation is underway. We might be fully operational by the time the store opens at 10 a.m. but if not we would recommend cash or check payment methods for fastest check-out. The Artisans is Closing Early Tuesday Jul 12th due to yet another air conditioning issue. We hope to open tomorrow, as long as the repairs can be completed - but as of right now, we have no air conditioning, and the temperature in the shop is reaching 90 degrees...so we will be closing early today.
