Enid Romanek Trunk Show

She's so well known for her iconic prints of Washington area monuments, attractions and hang-outs. But did you know that Enid Romanek does custom commissions? Pet portraits are a favorite (look at those faces!) but she'll also immortalize your family or home, working from photographs. Once that original artwork is completed, she has the capability to reproduce the image on note cards. Custom cards can be an effective fund-raiser for schools and other groups - imagine the possibilities.

The Ripple Effect

Riveting Notes is a line of stunning note cards featuring the photographs of West Virginia artist Deborah Herndon. Her images document her travels throughout France, Chicago, and the American South. As if the visual delight weren't enough, some of her cards offer recipes she has collected, tested, and refined.

And just what is the "Ripple Effect" she refers to? A portion of her profits are donated to organizations providing micro loans to less advantaged women starting businesses from their homes.

Small Delights

We love Semaki & Bird for its refreshing approach to jewelry for all ages. Look closely at their small card with a tree and you'll spot two owls that are actually sterling silver post earrings. A marsh reveals two frogs, and a mare and foal sport Swarovski crystal eyes. More sophisticated, yet still playfull, is their stunning selection of pins based on images from petroglyphs and other ancient artifacts -- with the source of inspiration detailed on each card. All pieces are reasonably priced, so you may want to replenish your 'future present' stash. Savvy gift-givers like leprechauns, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny have been known to shop in our store, so you may want to alert them as well!
